Soba noddles in a bun!!!!not sure Japan will get any mitchelin stars for such dishes to me see it as novelty some may see them as good wholesome food. I will stick to the really Japanese foods.

hmmm... that's a matter of opinion. it's certainly true that japan has felt the need to "customise" foreign imports. i sometimes think this japanesification says something about the ambivalent attitude japan has to it's acquisition of foreign culture...

The mayo and corn on a pizza ...no way! Geez, come to think of it, is mayo a main food staple in Japan?

i saw a television program once on Fuji TV where they brought a group of zainichi italiajin to SAIZERIYA and watched them cringe as they trotted out dish after dish ... ha ha ha. it was priceless. i'd love to see how italians prepare japanese foods ... he he he.

fish in my ice cream? hell no, no unless you're interested in vomitoria. as for the wacky stuff, steer clear, it's called Escherichia, Salmonella, Vibrio, Camplyobacter, Balantidion, Pseudomonas, Candida, Blastomyces, Triphyton, etc. etc.

I think the Japanese have got the right idea when experimenting with food, you see eating is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.
Take your time looking at the menu, savour all the possibilities of flavour and taste. When looking for comfort, choose an old favourite. At other times you may seek a little excitement, something hot perhaps? When in a rush, cheap but satisfying will do. But when the time is right theres nothing quite like experimenting with a new recipe. But never go too far, there is always the risk of mixing several wonerful flavours to make something not quite as good as the original.
