Rocket News (your lightter side of life site), The Japan Times, various international sites that have Asia sections.

Mainichi, English version. A lot of times it has additional details vs JT's articles.
Not Japan Times, because it wants registration.

Japan Times, using the paywall hack.
Tokiyo
ooh what is this paywall hack you speak of...

JT when I want to read about the British soccer results. Sometimes Japan Times.

I only really read Japanese news in English here.
I hate Rocketnews, and wish they would quit using them on here. It's basically a duller version of Buzzfeed written by bloggers. The translation standards on there are the worst of all the Japanese news sites too.
I like Japan Times too.

I read only Japan Today for English news in Japan. If there is a piece of news I'm interested in, I will search for the Japanese version, because it usually gives more details/updates on the story. It would be nice if JT could give some link to the original Japanese story they translate it from

There is atleast half a dozen decent sites but I am not going to disclose my sources.
Easy search on google shows a few, figure out which ones you like or that are not too left or right for your own taste.
Varied sites give you a much better view on things.
Some places have a very biased influence, wont mention any names though.
I also use a number of overseas sites, some left some right to get different opinions and views, to just use one news source gives a very slanted view on things.

Not that I care but, what is with the secrecy?? You're not holding secret nuclear information.

Newsonjapan.com and then sometimes the Yomiuri English edition, Mainichi English ed., BBC, the Economist Washington Post, USA Today, NY Times, LA Times (in order of descending freq.)

Probie: I don't mind RocketNews, I just wish they report their stories more directly instead of including their own opinions and perspectives (as they're usually not interesting or irrelevant).

I use many other sites to fill in the blanks.
