Highlights - My wife got a job in police services(in Canada, not a Cop).
30% increase in my salary, exercised my stock bonus from a previous engagement(Oil & Gas) before gas prices tanked and not currently working in oil & gas.
Stayed healthy and car free for the entire year.
Lowlights - Parents separated for awhile.
Partisan politics blackened both eye's of Canada's political system.
Overhearing my neighbor's young daughter's continually expanding vocabulary in conversations with my cat, knowing I had provided her with her "first pet."
Watching (on TV) a friend win an Academy Award.
Receiving recognition for my work in the form of a hefty raise.
Lows: Almost all of my investments sinking in value
Highs: Further advancing in my profession, Obama's election, witnessing the dismay of the blindly Republican supporting right wing faction on these boards thereafter (I'm still laughing about that)

Thanks, Nessie. It actually worked out cheaper (with insurance etc) than a new pair of glasses!

-Not to worry. The latter with proposed tax increases will soon take care of the former. Spend it fast.
