Is it possible to have more than one strain of TB at a time?

Does it release nitrogen or a nitrogen compound? How would one detect a minute change in nitrogen gas when the inhaled and exhaled breath normally contains 78 percent nitrogen with most of the remainder being oxygen and argon being inhaled and the same argon and four percent carbon dioxide exhaled?
If TB claimed 1.3 million lives, how does that compare to malaria which I thought was Number One, especially for young children?
