This is a serious problem and I don`t doubt that rates areincreasing, but when the margin of error is higher than the result itself, its a little hard to take the results seriously.

he lacks proper knowledge, there are plenty of treatments like home remedies- herbal medicines - pharmaceutical drugs - surgery.....!

In general, the media (of which this piece is a shining example) are absolutely clueless when reporting on scientific, cause and effect relationships. They fill in the gaps with weasel words like "believed to be," "could be related to," and others to try and make a statistically accurate sentence (there are 300 million cases of diabetes today, while there were 200 million twenty years ago) into a 500 word article.
