There is no reason why DRUGS must be the first and only answer -- but Big Pharma cannot make any MONEY from NUTRITION.

Part of the solution to the problem involves developing new anti-bacterial drugs, but a large part of the problem is that new drugs are over-used, encouraging the development of resistance in bacteria.

Nutrition does nothing to stop infection from certain bacteria if you get a wound, have surgery, or are immunocompromised in some other way.
A healthy diet will make you less likely to be infected but some people will still be infected regardless of how good their diet is.
Doctors need stricter guidelines on how to prescribe antibiotics. Antibiobitic prescription should require a positive test for the presence of whatever microbe it is they're looking for whenever prescribing powerful antibiotics.
This may seem extreme, but we have created something very very dangerous because we've been using these drugs too easily. Now we have something that cannot be stopped - we're back in the 1800's when it comes to treating these kinds of bacteria.

Pharma comps have never claimed to be philanthropists yet ppl and media often demand/expect them to work at a loss.
Just doesn't work like this, in any industry.
