I walk over 10 km a day and go to the gym daily on top of that. That's now. Back when I was 13 to 15, I was part of the Nintendo generation and sat in front of the TV more hours than I care to admit. But I'm totally in shape now and I really feel like this article is fearmongering at its worst. To say physical inactivity KILLS 5 million a year sounds like some "experts" are simply craving attention.

I wonder how many are killed by physical activity?

Why not, they also say that smoking KILLS millions. And there's no doubt that inactivity is as bad as smoking. We didn't evolve to be inactive.

There are too many 80 to 90 years olds who just sit around smoking and drinking. They need to get out and mountain climb, where they can die of exposure, exhaustion, or a fall.
