How much time do we spend everyday in front of computers at home, school and work? I think there is a solid correlation between PC and Obesity. This is an uptick very alarming trend for a social cost.

More drugs, more profit for the pharmaceuticals and the global bankers because apparently it's a "dangerous and growing epidemic." If there's a "fat gene," is there a "skinny gene" as well?
Whatever happened to watching what you eat, exercising, and generally practicing a healthy lifestyle?

When I worked in restaurants I too found the "fat gene". It's biggy size me EVERYTHING! Also diet Diet Coke (diet Pepsi, diet etc). They just drink insane amounts of diet soda coz you know, it's "diet" soda. Wal-Mart carts for anyone fat to do their shopping. I understand some people do need it but lately anyone fat use them.

Surely any new drugs will end up being abused by both the obese "community" and the pharmaceutical industry. The latter will overprescribe and the former will gobble it up. The latter will tell everyone they have this gene, and the former is in denial enough about their own lifestyle habits to believe it.

You could stop eating so much. Send some food to the starving kids of the world. The US military recently drastically increased weight limits because there are no thin people.

It ain't nurture v. nature. It's nurture AND nature. And no one becomes morbidly obese because of their genes. No one.
Diet and exercise. That is the key. Not some lab rat.

I didn't realize there was a gene for eating the whole got-danged bag of chips.
