Is the person in the picture eating a calorie-restricted diet? Tons of roast beef on a bed of lettuce?

1200 calories at most. That's not 70% of the daily needs for a man.

Really? My brain may be young, but it certainly didn't work properly when I was on diet, because instead of focusing on my thesis, I kept thinking about the next meal of 100g lettuce and half an apple, or 50g boiled broccoli and 50g shredded carrot plus a cup of black coffee.
