While this is good news perhaps, I wish they were doing more to develop new antibiotics. It seems to me that drug-resistant bacteria will be a bigger threat in the future than high cholesterol, which, for many people, can already be controlled through a better diet and exercise.

There is evidence that inflammation of blood vessels is what causes the cholesterol to stick and form the blockages that result in heart attacks and strokes. Cholesterol is necessary for our muscles to work, so it makes far more sense to heal and prevent the inflammation, than to impede our body's ability to use cholesterol. Unfortunately the cause of inflammation is the excessively high amounts of GMO ingredients and of sugar in the modern diet. Profits in the corporate food and drug industry are not going to be compromised, so instead of fixing the problem and curing us, we are being sold more pills that might give us a few more years of compromised life. People need to take responsibility for their own health, and that starts with consuming natural organic food. We are what we eat!

Antibiotics are great, but the drug companies would much rather develop drugs that have to be taken daily by healthy people. Antibiotics for a week or two, or a cholesterol drug every day for the next 40 years - which do you think the drug companies are more interested in?

John Becker....a perfect illustration of the evil of all large corporations. The power of greed.
