So does that mean that humanity that had lived prior to the develop of milk formula in the 1950s had a nut allergy?
It's curious that nut allergies are more common in wealthy parts of the world whereas in poorer areas where breastmilk is solely used, they have fewer issues with allergies.

Interesting result, but see a couple of questions about the study. I would like it to be spread to more than just one territory and country, I also thing it need to determine if there is a family genetic link, there are no nut allergies in my family line and my family practices breast feeding heavily. And NeverSubmit asks some good questions as well.

I never heard of anyone having allergies to normal food items for those born in the 1950's or previous to that . I think that this modern lifestyle with all it's processed foods, abundant use of chemicals, drugs and pesticides etc., has poisoned mother's milk. Latest research shows that mother's milk has been tainted with various chemicals, in particular some components of rocket fuel.

What a stupid conclusion. Most likely the study was sponsored by infant formula manufacturers. Modern humans (Homo Sapiens) have been breast feeding babies for over 250,000 years and to say that it causes nut allergies is ridiculous. The conclusion should be that there is some type of pollutant(s) in the environment of these women which is being transferred to the babies via breast milk and maybe the source of nut allergies. Either the study was poorly written or the writer of this article doesn't have much of an education.
