This report come shortly after one telling men not to have screening for prostate cancer. So, what *are *men supposed to do over and above the usual (eat healthily, exercise, don't smoke etc.)? Or should they just do nothing and let cancer take its course? Because neither of these articles have any suggestions.

What kind of Vitamin E. Was it from a natural source, or synthetic? What was the pill made of? This is a very general assumption. What other therapies did these men have in common? Was there a racial or environmental connection? This is the beginning of a propaganda campaign whereby the FDA intends to regulate vitamins and other supplements as pharmaceuticals. You watch, within ten years they will be a controlled substance.

Foxie,
Vitamins will be a controlled substance well before the 10 years. And you are right- what form of Vitamin E. They never tell you in these so called trials. Like Vitamin A causing lung cancer in smokers. Again, the vitamin A was synthetic. I think these trials are run with the blessings of big Pharma.

Perhaps you should read the article before throwing around accusations. I'm not in favour of huge profit centered pharmaceutical companies either, but in this case, the study was endorsed by national NPOs along with Alternative Medicine. The hypothesis was that vitamin E would REDUCE the chances of cancer. Why in heavens name would a company fund that hypothesis if they don't want people to take those supplements?
I believe that taking fat-soluble vitamins is a risky bit of business to begin with and there are suggested daily recommendations for a reason. Too much of even a "good" thing can be bad.
There was another article on JT that basically said that people don't need to take extra vitamins if they eat a properly balanced diet.
It would be interesting if they were able to find out the cause of the increase in prostrate cancer though. I mean, specifically WHY those substances caused a near significant increase.

This article is a load of croc. This is to condition everyone to be wary of vitamins and supplements ahead of the new regulations to ban these products under " Codex " Soon you will be lucky if you can find a natural form of even vitaminC. Don't worry though, the drug companies will be able to supply their drug versions.

Assuming there's plenty of fresh fruit & veg in the shops, there should be no shortage of natural Vitamin C.
Parsley, broccoli, strawberries, bell peppers, oranges, cauliflower and brussels sprouts are all excellent sources of Vitamin C, and much tastier than any supplement.
