I didn't realize that brushing one's teeth is forbidden.

During Ramadan nothing allowed to pass the lips during the daytime fasting, exceptions are made for needed medication, etc.

So no smoking, drinking either.

Actually it can pass through the lips as muslims have to gargle with water for abolution. Its not supposed to be swallowed.
