surely they just use their avian flu plans that are probably already in place?

Wait - what am I saying? I don't know why but I am always shocked by how unprepared Japanese organisations are for disaster especially when they have the biggest threat of natural disaster in the world... I know several big service providers to the banking world that have no DR sites!!!!!

Don't see why they are even going to bother, when everyone knows that the average salary slave who has the flu is still going to show up at the office anyway.

i laughed when i read they are having problems with specifics. they should have continency plans inplace already for a variety of reasons. oh. wait, this is japan. they NEVER have contingency plans.

Shouldn't be a problem. Most working adults who contract this flu are knocked out for a total of three days. Piece o' cake.

The fact that most companies have already confronted the problem and survived presents a problem for management.

If we can function with half of the staff out for several days, then can't we just fire a third of them and move on?

Ha ha ha! The cowered emasculated salaryman will go to his beloved company even if he is on death's door. He will go as usual and spread his virus on the train and in the office.

Ummm yes..contingency plans. Tell the sick folks to stay home and ask the healthy ones to work? That might work.
