Whaling or SMAP?
Maybe the South Koreans will soon think eating dogs is disgusting, much the same as most other civilised countries.

"civilised countries" my maiden aunt. Are you having a larf?
Eating dogmeat is no more disgusting and no less civilised than eating sheep, chicken, cow, pig or turkey.

I don't see what the issue is with eating dog. If the meat is clean of disease or toxic chemicals and the source of the meat is sustainable and slaughtered in a human and hygenic matter, I think that it is fine to eat. It may not be to our taste but when people start eliminating alternative forms of protein, we are potentially going to find ourselves with more overcrowded factory farms to support the demand. That may mean more B.S.E and avian flu....

I'm an American living in Seoul and I can say that 90% of the younger people and almost 100% of the women I know have never eaten dog meat. It's generally the older "ajoshi" who eat it once in a while. But the dogs that are used for "kaegogi" are a yellow-haired kind raised specifically for its meat. Personally, I love dogs (as companions and pets) and so I think eating dog is disgusting and it should be outlawed. However, you should know that you can't just walk down the streets of Seoul and find kaegogi restaurants. It's considered more of a summer delicacy for ajoshi and most people just never touch it.
