Bunkum. It's the just the same anywhere as the wheat is from Oz and this just doesn't interfere one single iota with the silly logic behind the locals' insistence that Kagawa's udon is unique.
The real point here is nostalgia for things past. Japan's self sufficiency rate is now 39% and J rice farmers actually do something truly 'unique', with the opportunity to grow wheat in the off season as it can be profitable with the Australian drought causing mayhem to Japan's grain prices.
