Snickers may have come up with their best campaign ever: A free barber shop

That delicious combination of peanuts, caramel and nougat all coated in chocolate known as Snickers has been around for ages.

In what initially looks like a weird move, Snickers will open a barbershop in Omotesando, Tokyo giving away free haircuts for a limited time this month. Although seemingly random on the surface, a quick glance at the choice of hairstyle (see below) will show you why. These styles will guarantee you get snickers everywhere you go.

Snickers Hungry Barber will be opened for six non-consecutive days from Dec 12 in Zerobase Omotesando. Haircuts will be free of charge and best arranged by appointment to ensure service. There are eight styles to choose from including mohican, bakuhatsu (explosion), hevimeta (heavy metal/mullet), and omakase (“leave it to me”) which looks like the best choice as you get free candy bars inserted into it.

With the holiday season fast approaching and all the corporate events and meetings with loved-ones that come along with it, you want to look your best. Then again, free is free, so why not book a trim with the Snickers Hungry Barber and get some snickers both inside your stomach and behind your back?

Location

Snickers Hungry Barber Zerobase Omotesando, 5-1-25 Minami Aoyama, Minato, Tokyo *Haircuts are free, but you are expected to have a commemorative photo taken while holding a Snickers bar which will be uploaded to social media.Reservations are recommended but drop-in cuts may be available.

Hours December 12th (Fri.) 3:00pm to 8:00pm 13th (Sat.) 11:00am to 6:00pm 14th (Sun.) 11:00am to 6:00pm 19th (Fri.) 1:00pm to 8:00pm 20th (Sat.) 11:00am to 6:00pm 21st (Sun.) 11:00am to 6:00pm

Snickers? Ah, a Marathon bar.

I'll pass on the haircut, just give a shopping bag full of Snickers.

Aha this is great!

I don't like Marathons, why are they the only proper chocolate bar you can buy here? What about Mars bars, Twix, Topics and the like? And not Aussie or Asian versions neither - they are vile. I was so disappointed when I first tasted a Dairy Milk I bought here.

Hahaha! Love the hair cuts!

They should have done that on Halloween...

A proper chocolate bar has chocolate in it, not a mass of gooey caramel. Maybe a few nuts, preferably not peanuts.

Chocolate here used to be dire, but nowadays there's plenty of good stuff to choose from.

Kya-kya-kya-kya-kya! ( snickering sound )

The best style is hevimeta, I'm going to get that one!

"Chocolate here used to be dire, but nowadays there's plenty of good stuff to choose from."

There has been and still is plenty of good stuff to choose from. Ya got yer Hershey's Milk Chocolate, Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate, Hershey's Milk Chocolate with Almonds, Hershey's Krackle, Hershey's Mr. Goodbar...

Hershey's is rank and smells like kitten vomit. (Honestly have you never sniffed inside the wrapper?)

Good old Cadbury's all the way

Any one of those styles would get me fired.

Bye the way, does anyone remember The Undertone's "Mars Bar"? (I'm really dating myself with this.)

@Elizabeth Heath

I think they import Oceania versions as they have been adapted to last longer in humid conditions. British chocolate, when it undergoes changes from one extreme to another, displays a whitish "marbling", which although completely safe to eat, seems like a blemish.

Thus, the Oceania versions are used as they are less prone to this phenomenon.

( I'm not sure if that's a fact, but it's what I've heard).

love it... hats off to the marketing company!

"Hershey's is rank and smells like kitten vomit."

Ha ha ha, lol, you are most definitely in the minority there, being as how I've never heard that one before, everyone I know likes / loves it, plus Hershey's had like $7 billion in sales last year.

What kind of word is Snickers anyway? Preferred it when it was called a Marathon.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"Snickers" was the name of a famous race hourse, as I recall. What does this have to do with getting hair cuts?

Hershey's is what you eat when you really, really need a choc fix and there is absolutely nothing else available.

Otherwise, nah.

Cadburys or Lindt if you want the good stuff.

I was surprised this newslol Snickers is very yummy! I love it and it's a good idea. I think free is sounds good. But I don't like the hair poster. Boy should come at once.
