They should not waste resources on going to the moon just for the sake of it. The human as a species needs to go there and conduct research. The universe holds all the answers in this world, the moon is the first step towards answers. Science for science, not science for status.

@saiaku at 1.5 bln per trip that's a rather direct conversion of old, static money over status into potential funding for new research and projects. If that is the intention and not just providing for the yaghts and the escort service for the company founders
