Can I charge 5,000 yen for English practice sessions on my crushed express train to Tokyo every morning? English conversation topics to include, "Please don't touch me." "How much alcohol did that salaryman drink for breakfast?" "How to politiely tell someone they should invest in a shower and lay off the garlic snacks."

Maybe I could run a gokkon in the restricted seat area for 5,000 yen too.

They haven't got time to meet and talk and socialize properly before getting married so what sort of a marriage could they possibly expect?

  • biglittleman at 01:43 PM JST - 30th July

Sure, why not? Let's go on a date.

the way to catch a spouse at 6am is to wait outside some club and pick off the stragglers...if she isn't "Mrs Right", at least she'll be "Mrs Right Now"

Popular courses include voice training, agricultural and environmental topics, as well as a men-only class to learn better ways of doing housework

I really hope they teach in the voice training course, that it is the natural voice that sounds good and that 'trying to be cute and end up squeaky' voice can be a deterrent in choosing a spouse in the natural law of order. Jpeople will enjoy happiness when the 'cute' syndrome disappears, and I am positive that it will happen with the recession. I shall curse Sanrio and Seiko Matsuda for promoting this madness in this nation.

haha, stirfry, love it! good idea.... may give it a try rather than going to Tsukiji!

  • yokomoc at 02:38 PM JST - 30th July

I like this idea. Meet someone you like and the crappy day at work won't feel quite so crappy anymore

  • Kronos at 04:30 PM JST - 30th July

    This is pathetic.

kudos to these guys, I'm barely able to wake up to make it to work at 9, at 6 I would be an unbearable grunting sleepy dude nobody would choose. I had the ambition to go to gym in the mornings once, but I quit it very fast. and common, dating without booze?

It is easier to see the real nature of men in the morning than in the evening as they do not drink alcohol.

Isn't it suppose to be the other way?

  • TokyoXtreme at 09:52 PM JST - 30th July

And they said Paris was the capital of romance!

    True

... agricultural and environmental topics ...

A woman who cannot keep her own in a discussion of agriculture is definitely not marriage material

Couple the logic and detail of this article with the other article about PAYING YOUR HOUSEWIFE for sex and housecleaning and you have a perfect snapshot of how bizarre Japanese adult-relationships can be. Or is it just the media's depiction? anyway... A 6:30 AM breakfast date? With 5 others deciding which one you want? Banana-mental.
