It may be nerdy and geeky, but tis far better to be cosplay and dress up and have fun, than to go out and hurt others, break the law, or be a criminal. Great for them.

    Yawn.

This fad is long past getting old here in Japan, it's just that nobody has any new ideas. I predict this phase will get old in the US quicker.

Waaaaay past getting old. I was in a department store in Japan recently. An old man, who was probably in his 70's, was shopping dressed in heels, fishnet stockings/garter belt, bustier, makeup, etc. Sad.

Well for Pete's sake, I hope they can teach that poser Gwen Stefani how to pronounce "Harajuku".

I wonder is it just Hooters with cute dresses?

I'm an anime/manga fan myself, but I just don't think this cuts the cheese right. The US has Halloween for our dress up day. Until then, leave the out of season costumes for Trekkies and Anime/comic conventions.

I cosplay everyday. I dress up and come to work and pretend to be an office worker everyday.

  • HonestDictator at 08:33 AM JST - 9th August

xD great one nimbus, but only problem is...almost all people around the world dress like you. You need individuality man!

I'd love to cosplay at least during all hallows eve. But I don't know what I should try. Never dressed up as an anime char before.

Actually I have to make a slight adjustment on my previous post. If they're food is good, and I mean REALLY GOOD, they can dress up as a slime goo alien for all I care and I'll still eat there.

I enjoy Japanese animation but Cosplay is well over rated. I in no way want or desire to dress up like the animation characters I like to watch. People that Cosplay tend to be somewhat weird/strange that is a given. I know people that work in Production companies that bring JP anime to the USA and they agree. The guys don't even consider dating or hooking up with these type people. I'd say that when someone puts on that costume no matter the age their maturity level drops by 50%. And when a friend did decide to hook up he soon found out that he wasn't the only one. I think when kids do it it's cute and they are having fun but older kids and adults do it they get into weirdness fast.

Catering to inadequate weirdos. Nice export, Nihon!
