3 bodies found in Kumamoto house

Police said Thursday that three bodies were found in a home in Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture, on Wednesday night, in what appears to be a triple suicide.

According to police, a neighbor was concerned when he didn't see any lights on in the house at about 7:45 p.m., TV Asahi reported. Police were called and discovered the bodies who were all members of the same family. The bodies of Seiichi Nagano, 71, and his wife Toyoko, 68, were found in the first-floor living room, while the body of the couple's son, Yoshitaka, 39, was found in his bedroom on the second floor, TV Asahi reported.

Police said there were no external injuries on the bodies and that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The house was locked, and there was no indications of a break-in. Police said a written message was found by the bodies, but have not released the details.

Just sad. Really sad.

Their deaths are a parting rebuke to a society that through wilful neglect is ultimately responsible for the poor quality of life that leads many people to choose suicide as an exit strategy.

Sad no. Pathetic yes.

This is really crazy. These suicides just never end. Almost day to day story. People don't have to go this way. I will never understand this culture.

Sad news - the only positive thing is that, this time, a toddler has not also been included in the family "suicide".

triple suicide is very rare, there must be deeper investigation, it might be homocide, I can understand very elder couple s suicide but their son was still young not even 40 so there might be something uncovered.

@avimazalto What ever the reason is for the son to be still living at home, might be a contributing factor for the all 3 of them committing suicide. Then again, this is Japan, so your theory is equally plausible.
