I hope to God she didn't set the fire herself because of the "stress" of being so young and raising 3 small children. I hope the police investigate.

Nice parenting! This kind of accident happens all too often in Japan. I understand there is very little in the way of community help for young mothers unless they live with their families. I'm sure there is a need to educate people on the dangers of leaving toddlers home alone. Last week a 4y/o girl fell from the balcony while her father was at the shop. It's a social issue that really needs to be addressed by the government and start educating people on safe parenting practices.

may their souls rest in peace but i think the mother intentionally burnt them considering the fact that the youngest was 6months and she left him/her in the apartment knowing well that the eldest is just 4yrs.the police shd ask more questions.

There are no words besides gross negligence to describe this situation. One can only pray that it wasn't intentional. If it was, I just have to believe that there is some special version of HELL for those who commit infantacide. If it was an accident her hell will follow her through life, we'll probably hear of a jisatsu related to this story soon..

I've just heard that she was in fact playing pachinko and couldn't bring herself to admit it until pressed on which clinic she said she went to.

Yup. Japanese news is reporting she was at pachinko. Of course there are fires and stuff in the US, but Japanese especially tend to trust their (young) kids way too much and leaving kids home alone is seen as normal. In college when I was learning keigo for the travel industry the teacher mentioned that Japanese tend to leave children unattended so that is something that needs to be explained to hotel guests.

Adding... I hear the stupid game is addictive. Over the last few years I have read about at least 6 kids dying here. Most in cars or a motorcycle luggage box (yes one case). In the US they would get 10-20 for this and we have our poor white trash cases too.

why the mom is the killer Mr.Holmes. if you are single mother with 3 child you receive money from country and you not need to work. kill you child when you are a single mother is like burn a winning loto ticket.

but some years in jail could be a good think.
