If PM Abe wants to act strongly against Communist Chinese Government’s provocative behavior and then he needs to tell Japanese Companies to stop the continue investing in Communist China and move their Business interest to other South East Asian countries. Otherwise, Communist Chinese leaders will continue provoke against Japan Government and bully Japanese interests in China. Communist Chinese Government must have plan for to kill 2 birds with one stone. Communist leaders target may not be 100% on Senkaku Island but I believe their intention is to invade Taiwan. To invasion to both Senkaku Island and Taiwan is most likely scenario for me. They must think eaten one clove of garlic or eaten 2 or more cloves of garlic is nothing different and will get same smell in the mouth. US will involve anyway. There's no question about Communist Chinese Government is irritating on US protecting Japanese sovereignty. Communist leaders are calculating on whether US Government will actual involve war with China or not if war was broken out between Communist China and Japan, and Communist China and Taiwan. Communist Leaders thought Japanese Government was cornered and Japanese Government can not afford to lose Japanese investment in China. PM Abe won’t be dare to confront Communist China whether US is behind the Japan or not. Communist Chinese Government's harassing to Japanese sovereignty will be continuing as long as Japanese Companies are doing business in China. Communist leaders are seeing Japanese businesses' interest in China as Japanese Government weak point.

So, I wonder which Weapons Radar Lock China will use this time? Surface-To-Surface Repeators? Air Tactical Search? Fire Control Lock for Anti Ship Guns?
Let's be clear: There is No Dispute. The United States, The United Nations, and Every Geographical Charting Organization in the World has proclaimed the Islands as the "Senkaku Islands" under the "Adminstrative Control" of JAPAN and IS and WILL BE until JAPAN decides to relinquish "Administrative Control" and or "Concede" the Territory as "Uncharted Islets". But not until that time, China has NO SOVEREIGNTY over the Senkaku Islands as long as they are under JAPAN'S "Administrative Control".
So, let's drop the phrase "Disputed Islands" because the only country that has a "Dispute" is The Communist "Hostile/Weapons Lock" Regime of China.

It is incredible that people expect China to back off. NEVER! The reason is China CANNOT backoff now. China have a domestic audience to consider. Maritime surveillance is the minimum required to assert sovereignty claim. Japan simply have to accept the fact that Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands is not sovereign yet to Japan! Nobody in this planet recognize Japanese claim, not even US, why are people so blind to this fact?
China is walking a very fine line, just dancing in and out of the 12 miles limit. Japan should just get used to it and not read this as a deliberate act of provocation. This 'provocation' is just the unintended consequence. Complain to US as the giver of the adminstrative rights to Japan, see what your 'boss' says.. Japan cannot unilaterally take military action or do anything to harm a foreign vessel, be it from China or Taiwan.
If people are unhappy, just complain to Ishihara!

After the radar incident I bet there won’t be any SDF vessels following Chinese vessels for awhile. Now Japan’s claim of effective control of the islands is extremely weak, the next step for China is to do a better job in gathering and presenting to the world all the historical and technical evidence to back up the claim of sovereignty. This is not a problem for China to tackle alone; all the Chinese in every corner of the world should be involved. Only unity and solidarity can win the war. Among the Chinese the answer to the question of ownership of the islands was clearly and overwhelmingly, “yes, they belong to China”. The answers from the Japanese, on the other hand, are dubious at best, some said: “we got possession”, “China didn’t say anything for a long time”, or “China lost it,” and some even said right out that they believed the islands belong to China. J govt knows about this and that is why a special task force is set up to improve their propaganda machine. We will see a piece by piece of evidence from japan to try to convince the public. But, as they said the truth is out there.

More and more the paper tiger PRC pushes knowing full well that Japan can not act unless the PRC attacks first.
But when Article 9 is finally removed the PRC and it's thuggish ways will end.
Cowards and thugs are all the same.

Interesting that the headlines never read "Japanese vessels in disputed waters".
What use is it harping on China all the time? Japan has what, four neighbors if you include North Korea? And Japan has a territory dispute with every single one of them.

I guess we should include Taiwan as well to make five. And let me check...yep...territory dispute with Japan!
