    Any Pastafarians or Scientologists?

    Zoroastrianism??

I thought that religion practically died out a few thousand years ago. Wikipedia says they only have 200,000 adherents, which places it well below Scientology (8-15 million, depending on what statistic you believe), JWs (7 million), Mormons (13 million), and Jedi (over 500,000)

Fancy that...religion has caused the death of millions and now religious leaders want to talk peace. 10 bucks says the obvious solution of discouraging belief in the supernatural won't be on the agenda.

which pales in comparison to the 10's of millions killed by suppression of religion.... just asked the communist nations...

Well, regardless of what you believe, these religious leaders represent a substantial percentage of the population and deserve to put their message forward, as does any non-religious group with substantial representation.

Perhaps Scientology didn't make the list because they couldn't find enough people to send. Desite claims of several hundred thousand Scientologist in Australia, the last census data there only found 741 people claiming to follow it! According to that census, there are 100 times as many Jedi as Scientologists, so why aren't the Jedi represented in the list?

will make peace proposals during the two-day conference at the Sapporo convention center. They will discuss eradicating war and poverty as well as climate change...

Perhaps they will smoke a pipe and do a rain dance too. More distraction and confusion for the masses...

Oneearth, good to hear that ... Perhaps more people should follow your way.

Luckily, thousands of J-satsu have been mobilized to protect us from rabble rousers and subversives like these.

  • rajakumar at 07:41 PM JST - 2nd July

Talking peace is not a big deal, it is how peace values and spiritual educations, can reach all people, that needs to be adressed.

The G-8 are industrialized nations that have caused world problems by ignoring the wisdom of God to all His prophets around the world. All holy writings warn not to go after riches, fame, and honor; yet most of the world has followed after those G-8 ideals.

Now the industrialized nations and the world must try to end the energy crisis, food crisis, pollution, global warming, disease, wars, poverty, immigration, and inequality. With their wisdom, they can only intensify the problems.

God's solution is: Remember, the goal in life is not employment. The goal in life is a retirement lifestyle in a garden paradise we create. Landscaping and pets that produce fresh food also create beauty, clean air, land, and water, and give true freedom, true independence, fullness of joy as families reunite to produce their paradise, and a healthy stress-free life. Only God can save us... when we acknowledge Him and want Him. Pray for God's kingdom now and God will bring leaders to help bring it to pass.

Glad to found so many people here does not support fanatic religious values. Damn Buddhists enacted mammal protection laws as early as in 5th century in China and Korea, and even in Japan in 17th century (生類憐れみの令). All these countries abolished these Pre-Medieval laws long ago, and mammals are chattels in modern society. It’s sometimes tough to teach kids their pets are my chattels, but I am glad to live in the 21st century.
