no info on how the housefire started.
In some countries the media not only communicate the news but they also serve as an avenue to educate people. How many Japanese people even know that it will be compuslory from 31st May 2009 to fit a smoke alarm? In Japan they are often ignorantly referred to as a firealarm. Smoke suffocates and kills more sleeping people first before the fire takes hold anyway. Educate. There seems to be an unneccesarily high number of articles that report housefires resulting in death in Japan. Perhaps the media should take the opportunity in the same article to educate their readers that smoke/fire alarms SAVE lives.

Really? Whoa! Someone I knew fell into an open fire burning rubbish (was it?). Some said he had a heart attack, but most said it was suicide. It is interesting how suicide in Japan differs from that of the West (hanging, jumping off a bridge, ODing). I am going to read an article about it I found online for better understanding.

Poor husband. Have some class and wait for some evidence before claiming "murder suicide" when a family died.
