You have a point there wilbur, hopefully we won't see anymore former 'sex slave's' of the Japanese Imperial military and their supporters protest anymore (sarcasm).
frontandcentre: yeah agreed but its about as senseless to protest over this, because 50000 or 5 million signatures, what's gonna happen ? they gonna un-shoot him ? he's dead, the locals are annoyed, next story
wilbur - I think it's quite apt that they're making their feelings known in a way that would never be permitted by the unelected, illegitimate criminal junta who run Burma.
If you truly believe the pen is mightier than the sword, then this petition might actually amount to something.
Maybe the U.S. could take out the leadership of both Myanmar and Zimbabwe before George W. Bush is out of office. You know we would be welcomed with open arms.
well, i am actually going to mynamar tommorrow, i am looking forward to going there actually,I got my visa really quick, no probs at all. i have no beef with the Junta, and will stay clear and respect them. i want to see and film the pagoda... hehe
Have the junta got no shame at all? The incident of Kenji Nagai being shot down in cold blood was recorded (unexpectedly) by another journalist. This scene of murder is shown on YOUTUBE........ Witness the Myanmar soldier in flip-flop, who shot down the japanese jounalist, casually, at point-blank range without breaking his stride.
Im all for protesting and collecting names etc...But wilbur has a good point. If the family wants his personal belongings back fine, go for it. If they are protesting the killing, what exactly do they want? To me this is a venting of emotion and grieving. They are entitled to do it, but Im not sure they are going to get satisfaction out of it.

medievaltimes; In addition to what you believe, couldn't it be the campaign that Myanmar's thuggish generals must think twice before they order to shoot unarmed, non-violent demonstrators ,indiscriminately, in cities' streets?

What about protesting against the Junta in Burma and the imprisonment of democracy activists.

Wilbur:
Nope - it's often difficult to protest about somebody being shot dead by government troops before it happens..

wilbur: You will not make such careless remarks if Kengi Nagai was your brother ,who was being killed in cold blood unneccessarily.
