Washing hands? Doctors do not wash hands here. They wash their gloves over and over again and move on from one patient to the next. Even at the dentist. ewe! Nurses pulling blood do not even put on gloves. Dirty habits need cleaning up. Get it?

My wife had lasik surgury done on both eyes a few years ago, I think at the Shinagawa clinic.

Results - she went from nearly blind to complete vision.

    Very impressive.

19 years old is too young to be having the procedure. all the websites i checked stated that it is highly advisable to wait until you are a way into your 20s

    "Inadequate hand-washing"

I'm afraid that is not limited to Lasik clinics.

I agree with Nessie- "infectious diseases" is a poor translation of the Japanese original. The patients developed infections such as conjunctivitis, not infectious diseases, which makes it sound like they got diptheria or TB after the surgery.

exactly, you can tell a greedy cowboy operator like this Mizoguchi chap, they will take in any punter at all - those in their teens or very early twenties There is no way to guarantee vision has stabilized at this age), those with thin corneas who shouldn't have the surgery done, those with large pupils where by some scar tissue from the flap could potentially obscure vision post op, those with high intra ocular pressure Reputable surgeons turn these people away all the time, like my good friend who was gutted to be told by the surgeon that he wouldn't conscionably laser him up. I also just notice an irony in this story - his name Mizoguchi means "sewer mouth" - more like sewer hands.

"razor bladed device" is such an old way to do it. Now the laser does everything. Sad this guy doesn't upgrade his product. In the states now you can have both eyes done for only 900 bucks or so. Had my eyes done years ago. Life changing! Do it. Don't buy another pair of glasses.

there are two techniques..one is done by laser only and the other is the method described above..of which I am pretty sure, the method of inserting a lens is the newest. Both have strengths and weaknesses.I am thinking of the laser correction only...a lot of cash though.
