8,000 bicycles destroyed in warehouse fire

Police said Friday that about 8,000 bicycles were destroyed in a warehouse fire in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture.
According to police, the fire broke out early Thursday morning at a warehouse belonging to the Jeuness transportation company, TV Asahi reported. An employee notified police at about 12:30 a.m. It took firefighters four hours to extinguish the blaze which destroyed 860 square meters of floor space where the 8,000 brand-new bicycles were.
Police said three employees were working at the warehouse at the time of the fire, but could not shed any light on how the fire started, TV Asahi reported.
