Will never be able to predict them.

I imagine we'll be able to predict them at some point. I'm a little more skeptical about whether or not we'll be able to do anything about it even if we are able to predict it however.

'JapanGal' and years back they said the world was flat...

More plate tectonics rubbish. The 3/11 quake was caused by a collapse into the Japan Trench of the brittle shelf all along Japan's eastern coastline, beyond which lies some of Earth's oldest ocean floor. This has been happening there since time immemorial.

Yeah, so let's build more reactors, shall we?

Tee hee hee, I must admit I got a good laugh out of this. It's like something out of The Onion.

The way things are going it will take thm longer than 9 years to clean up the mess and to adequately compensate and rehouse all those affected

You an earthquake scientist/geologist?

Well, I guess this should finally put paid to the "TEPCO knew!!!" line pushed by some.

Earthquake scientist- there's no such thing. You can't experiment on the Earth- you can at best gather the barest scraps of evidence- only succeeding at 0.000001% The forces of the Earth are vast and unknowable. The Earth's interior is woefully unexplored. Seismic relies on the information that you are gathering to determine the information that you need- Any petrophysicist knows that so they do cores and samples from drilling to cross-correlate the seismic properties and therefore do the remote sensing needed. For the interior there is little to nothing to correlate the seismic.

Its not that TEPCO knew and that's it was likely for a tsunami to come sometime but with modern nuclear management there wouldn't been a major problem- antiquated management leads to disaster not that its much of a disaster.

Apparently many of you are not acquainted with Tesla's resonance theory. Look it up.
