You never hear a story about a house fire in Japan in which the family got out and the fire was put out at a point that made repairing the home an option. They always burn to the ground and kill nearly all the occupants. Is at Japanese firefighters, Japanese houses, or both? Perhaps the fact that the average Japanese person has never heard of a smoke detector has something to do with it. I'm reminded of hucking a Frisbee around in a large Japanese park one afternoon where all the local fire departments were practicing. They seemed to spend about 3 times as much time practicing standing at attention and bowing to the captain and marching around the park in unison like Army guys while in full dress uniform than they spent actually practicing with the hoses and whatnot- you know, the skills a fireman might actually need to fight fire.

They don't state the cause of the fire (bad wiring, heater fell over, kids play with matches) or whether it was Suspicious like Arson. Need more info on this story there could be a bigger story behind it.

    Rest in Peace....
