This isn't news. Every TV show, including reality TV shows, are staged. Well, all except Paris Hilton's "My New BFF" - that is real!!

"We did not have enough time to find passersby that would answer our questions the way we wanted them to, nor enough cash to convince them to do so."

I know Japanese TV programs are staged, because before I was on Asahi TV pretending to be a US Navy pilot. However I was paid 40,000 for that day.

The production company said, ‘‘We did not have enough time to seek out passersby,’’ Uhmm, wouldn't that be people walking by you on the sidewalk?

  • shoguinn1 at 01:49 PM JST - 28th January

medievaltimes Yeah the first time my group of american against the japanese group had to push a small car up a hill and then ride it down a hill with no power. The second time I had to break the tiles that are on a japanese house type with a punch. I won both times.

    Not surprised.

The unbearably bad "man falls off bike in Chiba" NHK news always has these clips where they interview various people on the street, with the viewers treated to the passersby inciteful comment that something is "hidoi" or "taihen". This is then fit with the story. I always wonder how many people they had to find to get the comment to fit with the story.

Still, it could be worse, it could be the emotional whining of the BBC.

Off course it is difficult to find passersby's when you are in the pachinkoparlor

You need to know the code. When they -

say nothing, as a wondering expression spreads across the face

    blink rapidly, and smile

    stutter

say omoshiroi aji desu ne, kore.... or fushigi na oishisa

    -the food tastes vile.
