American cheerleaders show Kansai their moves

OSAKA —

Cheerleaders from American professional football team the San Francisco 49ers mesmerized visitors with a vigorous performance at Kansai International Airport after arriving on their own private jet Friday, in a PR move for United Airlines to announce an increase of flights on their Kansai-San Francisco route starting March 28.

One football-obsessed fan, a 25-year-old woman from Kyoto, was wowed by what she praised as their “dynamic moves.”

I'm sure some male fans were using their zumu-renzu on their "dynamic moves".

Football is soccer anywhere else in the world. The only proper name for it is American football.

Anyway the sport plus cheerleaders is a uniquely American and bizarre expression of sex and violence.

No lars, in America it's FOOTBALL. And in Japan, the football you refer to is called soccer.

Moderator: Readers, the subject of this story is the cheerleading group, not football or soccer.

This professional cheer squad has an official name: the SF 49ers Gold Rush. http://www.49ers.com/gold-rush/index.html

Me too! There should be more of them in every sport - I feel in Australia and Japan we just don't have enough of them. This is one American tradition I'd be more than happy to copy!

much nicer than the cheerleaders for the TwentyTwenty England v. Pakistan games last week.

Most teams in the world outside the US don't get their own plane and here the cheerleaders do - crazy world!

    here the cheerleaders do

I dare say the San Fransisco 49ers have their own plane - not the cheerleaders exclusively.

Personally, I think the Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders will put the Niner's to shame any day of the week. See for yourselves! http://www.vikings.com/cheerleaders/index.html :-)

"Illegal"? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone being arrested for it. There may be team rules against it, but if they suspended every jock who was bangin' the cheerleaders, they wouldn't be able to put a full team on the field.

Most teams have rules regarding players schtuping the cheerleaders. If they're caught, the cheerleader gets fired. (Then they can schtup all they want.)

I DO think it's funny that the cheeleaders had to come over on a private jet to promote an increase in flights for United. What, couldn't United spring for seats on their normal flights?

If u guys really wanna see smoking HOT cheerleaders, then check out the college cuties that cheer Division 1 College (NCAA) basketball and football teams like USC, UCLA, University of Florida, Syracuse, Duke, U of Miami and a ton of others. :-) They get 4 year scholarships for cheering...pretty demanding routines, no doubt. Do a Google Image search: http://images.google.com/images?q=ncaa+cheerleaders

These pro cheerleaders look good, but there are a lot more better looking women in Japan than in the U.S. in all age groups.

"there are a lot more better looking women in Japan than in the U.S. in all age groups."

To each his own I guess. But I would like to point out that "variety is the spice of life" ! In the US you get women with curves- some more than others- you get blonde, brown, black, and red-heads "le natural". Throw in green, blue, hazel, brown- eye shades ranging from every hue to every color. Obviously "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"- but in the US there is simply a wider range to choose from.
