Near miss, minor collision, any other suitable word to describe this accident?
Sidwarwick at 07:27 AM JST - 13th June
Where does it say 'near miss?' They touched. That's not a near miss.

I believe those are in the air terms. this was on the ground. man these airlines are getting competetive. bump and blame. so if they follow the lines that are painted on the ground how can they hit each other? Drunk pilots?

This is an accident. With 600 passengers and tons of aviation fuel, the seriousness of this "incident" cannot be underestimated.
nisegaijin at 09:20 AM JST - 13th June
That is extremely dangerous. All 600 passengers should make it to nearest shrine and thank whatever God they are praying to that they are still here.
While during the collision itself, nothing could have happened, playing flying after this incident was in grave danger. Any dent or paint peel can result in airflow problems, and if not bringing the plane down, it would be most likely creating more stress on its structure causing more metal fatigue. Both planes should be examined to greatest detail.

Is this like a car accident in Japan were both are at fault?
“the tail part of the ANA plane, which was waiting on a runway for takeoff, touched the edge of the wing of the JAL plane, which was about to pass behind the ANA aircraft, according to the officials. “
So the ANA was sitting at a red light and the JAL passing behind it touched the ANA plane tail, not the other way around. Not like the ANA jet backed into the JAL plane.
All in how you saw it I guess. JAL pilot “I was driving along and this ANA jet just came out of no where and stopped in front of me”! Check his cell phone to see if he was texting while driving. Buuhhaaa.

"Planes have scrape at Haneda airport." You mean the planes were arguing with each other?
KenjiYamamoto at 10:24 AM JST - 13th June
oops. can we fly now?
KenjiYamamoto at 10:25 AM JST - 13th June
nise hit it on the nail. i wouldn't want to step in a plane that's had even a minor scuffle. no way. even with a parachute:

This explains why my JAL flight from Naha to Tokyo was canceled last night. Good thing their mechanics caught it.
pathat at 12:24 PM JST - 13th June
So when JAL/ANA planes hit each other on the runway causing minor damage, we can say they scraped each other, but when a Japan Coast Guard vessel rams and sinks a Taiwanese fishing boat, we should also say there was just some scraping going on. O.K., got it!

I wish I had known about this system when I smashed my parents car. 'Don't worry guys, it's just a scrape.'

This shoddy service is what I'm paying ¥260,000 for this summer?
