    Why do they need to dump fuel? In case of a crash landing to prevent an explosion?

    Responding to the high price of crude oil and kerosene, as well as the increased cost of insurance coverage and airport security, we wish to advise that All Nippon Airways Group airlines will be applying a fuel surcharge as follows. *The fuel surcharge will change for tickets issued on/after July 1,2008.     The ORD-NRT route for Japanese airlines is pretty skewered for C-class passengers (usually about 70+), unlike US carriers that concentrate on Y-class (aprx 35 C-class seats) so usually, the numbers in the area of 200, give or take, should be average.
