    Wow, speaking of public safety nightmares ! This asbestos thing is a virtual behemoth ! Any other nation on the planet would be tied up for centuries trying to figure out the lawsuits. But in Japan ? Nary a word, as the locals just suck up more poisonous fibers. You got kids ? Get em the hell out of Japan ! Schools have shown toxic levels of this crap and the government still fiddles about trying to figure out what to do. Absolute embarrassment !

    thepossum makes an excellent point: Asbestos is not a material to be trifled with. Imagine what a mandate for testing for levels of asbestos in public places and publishing those results might do to increase awareness of this potential public safety hazard.
