The body of a man police believe may have come from North Korea washed up on the coast of Oga in Akita Prefecture, police said Monday.
According to police, the body was found by a ferry captain at around 2 p.m. Sunday, floating 100 meters off the coast of Oga. TBS reported that the man was described as 162 cm tall, carrying a metallic box containing photos of Kim Jong-Il and Kim Il-Sung, former leaders of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Police say the body was in an advanced state of decay and that the man was dressed in the same orange survival clothing as another body that washed up in Niigata Prefecture on Saturday.
Authorities said they will carry out an autopsy to discover the exact cause of death.

Haha, good one Altruist. My guess for the cause of death would be drowning, induced by hypothermia, and perhaps aided by malnutrition.

All sorts of garbage floats up on shore down here, not surprising really that a dead body would as well.
My sympathy to the family of the deceased. RIP NK man.

Sounds like a NK fishing boat sank with at least two crew members lost. RIP guys. You were just trying to earn a living.

Who goes out to sea carrying pictures of former dictators?

I've seen and helped recover decomposed bodies from the water, and it's a freaky scene in itself. If you have never seen a "floater" They actually start to resemble a fish face look at a certain point. But to add that he was still holding onto a metal box that contained pictures of the NK leaders really adds a whole new level.
