One reason for mounting the parade was “to frighten Japan and declare to the world China’s determination to maintain the post-war world order”, said the article, written by Chinese financial and global affairs commentator Hu Zhanhao.

“Only by showing its military capabilities can (China) show Japan its attitude and determination and let it know that whoever dares to challenge the post-war order related to China"

As always, a thug and a bully. Pitiful.

Where are the actions not rhetoric that shows China is seeking war with Japan? Maybe it is the Chinese that are fearful of Abe's policies?

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Maybe now would be a good time for U.S. forces to leave Japan.

-10 ( +11 / -21 )

I wonder how other nations can have any possible tie to this nation of thugs.

8 ( +15 / -7 )

If China is showing, what I would assume is only a tiny fraction of its military might, then I don't beleive it is only Japan China is trying to frighten. In addition, both Japan and China have pride and may continue to out do/show each other until a mistake is made ie.taking down a plane or sinking a boat or ship, then the sh** is going to hit the fan. I mean like really, how often does the US or UK have parades to show off it's military might? It's just a bully tactic that will only escalate tensions. Put both leaders in a closed room with boxing gloves for a few hours.

Frighten Japan ? I think the image of all those short skirts and boots would get them salivating.

"CCP distracting a blinkered populace lest they question their bosses' corruption."

As if, other than scale, that sets them off from the world's other corrupt leaders.

"I wonder how other nations can have any possible tie to this nation of thugs."

Sadly the world keeps enabling China. This is the country the Boomers sold the world out to, destroyed any economy via manufacturing and clothing et al so they could make a buck. Oh sure, now that democracy costs you a dollar, now it's a problem. You made this world Boomers, and if you don't like it maybe it's time you changed it back. Don't hold your breath

16 ( +19 / -3 )

As we've seen repeatedly from history, saber-rattling and blustering displays of militaristic nationalism always come to a good end.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

To frighten Japan?!?!?

No, I don't you should give you Japan so much credit.

This parade is for them by them and has little interest in "frightening you"! If they wanted to frighten Japan it would be much closer to your shores. They'd cruise their fleet just off your coast.

The title of this article serves to control the public's emotions. It's ridiculous. No one is doing anything with the sole purpose of "frightening Japan". What rubbish.

What would be more upsetting is to discover that China isn't thinking about you at all. Do you wake up thinking about how to make China worry or live in the fear? When you eat lunch are you thinking about China? NO. You are thinking about your lives and how you are going to make ends meet.

Sorry but Japan's ego is way overblown.

The comments represent the success of propaganda such as this. It serves only one purpose. To prepare you to give in to Abe's proposal to change the Constitution and he needs fear and hate to serve his interests. Machiavellian style.

I like this idea. I'm also laughing at the minuses, must be from the "patriots" sorry I mean 50 cent failures. Yes I definitely agree that Japan is first and foremost in what can only be described as a campaign of thuggery and intimidation and just wait soon enough for PRC bleating about how others are "causing chaos" (think about how much chaos they're causing to other countries!) and the obvious "devilish foreign forces" cliche. The clear message is that if you say "no" to the PRC, then they will thug, harass, and intimidate you until you kowtow to them in a slavish manner.

Imperialist hypocrisy at its finest, disguised as "patriotic fervor" within the PRC.

This. The politics of fear.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

I sincerely doubt this march is to frighten Japan. Surely the Chinese haven't neglected the idea that an attack on Japan is an attack on the United States. No. This march isn't for Japan. It's for China's own citizens, as SenseNotSoCommon wisely stated. China's media outlets are covering their governments true intentions.

A country as large and populous as China doesn't have to worry about other countries; it must worry about its own citizens.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Yep. And we fight with soldiers these days. No really.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Let's just keep buying their reasonably priced goods, let them slowly poison their entire country, let their middle classes become wealthier and hungrier for representation, let them realize that this is a long game and we'll all still be here when they've eventually torn themselves apart by trying to preserve a failed system of government.

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Oh, China. Just like a jealous Ex, you felt Japan was paying too much attention to a new enemy in IS and not giving you enough attention.

Newsflash, China, Japan is joining a nobler fight against Islamic extremists, maybe you could think about joining, too.

6 ( +10 / -4 )

we'll all still be here when they've eventually torn themselves apart by trying to preserve a failed system of government.

One-party governments have their strengths as well. If/when they want something done, it happens. They don't have to deal with situations like the US where one party opposes the other on everything and anything, no matter what, simply because the other party proposed it. While a one-party system means a lack of democracy, it results in an increase in efficiency. So don't let your conditioning that democracy is the only way forward to make the failed assumption that China's government will fail.

What a misleading headline from JT.

"China to hold military parade to 'frighten Japan' Why are China not allow to host a parade for the 70 years after WW2 , Russia is doing the parade 70 years after WW2.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Frighten Japan? When Japan has a modern, sophisticated military of its own backed up by the only super-power in the world?

At least actions like these go a long way in helping to convince the Japanese public of the need to "re-arm." Nakatani's job keeps getting easier and easier thanks to the fools in the CPC.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

I somehow doubt Japan would even notice.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

A country which had no role in the defeat of Japan is going to celebrate their subjugation all year long. Interesting choice. Also "maintain(ing) the post-war world order"? That is what everyone wants: China not in the East and South China seas.

4 ( +8 / -4 )

The bully is threatening its neighbours, with a show of might and weapons, trying to intimidate your neighbours is not a good way to have 1st world relations with neighbouring country's people. This is the sort of stunt NK does.

China is still the immature petulant brat it has always been.

I would love to see the US and Nippon Self Defence force do fly bys of this parade while it is in full swing.

2 ( +8 / -6 )

Yet trade continues unabated and there is no pressure for democratic reforms, quite the opposite is happening. I yearn for the days when an American President would go to the precipice and say, "tear down this wall!" I hope Abe can succeed in all his is trying to do, particularly to help show the way for other democracies in Asia.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

@Strangerland, I don’t remember saying that democracy was the only way forward. The irony of China is that now more than ever its leaders policies are tied to public opinion. In the west polls are used for elections, in China they have become a way for the party to decide policy and retain legitimacy in the face of a growing lack of control over the country. The point will come though when the party eventually has to choose to decentralize or face popular revolt. Either that or they find a new Mao.

Some of the comments here are very insightful. One thought in the responses I get is that every action has its consequences and what you plant is what you harvest. You reap what you sow.

China is the kid that got bullied in elementary school and is now 6'3 and growing in high school. Those who ate China's lunch won't have pleasant dealings. I don't condone nor do I blame China. The kid that got bullied is vindictive and is full of vengeance.

A victim of bullying will seek revenge once it's strong enough to do so. How did he become this way? Yes Japan has apologized but China has not accepted. China does not have to accept nor does it have to. I'm afraid Japan will have to put up with this for decades.

The same with the IS. You reap what you sow. If you're going to support the enemies of the IS, you've become the enemy. Japan is a nice guy giving aid and all but like others it cannot do so and not expect consequences. The US supported Hussein against Iran, took out Hussein, and goes after the Al Qaeda. We wouldn't have what we have today if we hadn't done what we did yesterday.

I would fail in International Relations but I'm leaning towards letting countries settle their own matters. Do you want to get involve in every fight at a bar? Take it outside. People in Japan mind their own business. You can shout "Groper!" and the person standing next to you stands perfectly still. Don't get involved. Let Iran fight Iraq. Let Japan deal with China. If Kuwait can't defend itself, it has to accept its fate. If you're going to get involved, you'd better improve the situation. Let nature run its course. Where is the Roman Empire now?

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

No one is really frightening Japan; China is only someone to make good business.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

@Strangerland Of the G20 countries, like three aren't democracies. Not a good success rate there. And that is with failed petro states like Saudi Arabia and Russia in the mix. China will sink without democracy eventually.

Sorry but Japan's ego is way overblown.

No, I don't you should give you Japan so much credit.

Exactly. Whenever it's USA or Japan's SDF having a parade, it's a celebration. Whenever it's China, it's a show of evilness. I'd say even Russia gets less criticism even though they've been involved in some deadly clashes recently. Abe and his camp are just whipping up the fear mongering to further his own plans and agenda. He knows all the right buttons to push, but you know the saying, don't bite the hand that feeds. China knows it's helping to prop up Japan's economy and can pull away anyday. Basically, Japan is assuming that it's a big world player and that China spends all day fixated on Japan - I think China has more important things to think about.

Make no mistake, I'm no fan of the CCP, but I can see right through this fearmongering and victim mentality. You know, the need for a bogeyman to further your own causes and keep your own people's focus away from domestic problems. And when the hate extends from the CCP to the country and people as a whole, as some of those posters here have shown, it shows that it all boils down to self-insecurity, jealousy and a bit of racism thrown in.

As for 70th anniversary celebrations, Europe is now commemorating together, especially at Auschwitz. What commemorations are taking place in East Asia? I guess the Chinese and Koreans will have to do it on their own, since Abe certainly won't be talking about history in as much detail as the Europeans.

KMT was clearly doing most of the fighting in WW2 in China.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

More than frighten Japan, its seem China is bluffing, hoping Japan to take the bait and accept China as the big boy in town.

as Sun Tzu said: "All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when we are able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must appear inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near."

So when you are weak, we must present ourselves as strong.

Anyway, I don't doubt China building military strength, but if they think that others will back down from their show of force, they got another thing coming.

Most likely Japan will push militarization sooner than later. Unless China actually wants a stronger military rival in Japan, this festival won't work the way China wants to, if the article is true, that is.

It will probably push the Philippines, Vietnam and India to strengthen their militaries and enhance defense alliances among themselves and Japan as well as any nation that China threatens.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

by the way, do Chinese know that US, British and even the Soviets (albeit at a later date) help China immensely or did the Communist claim all the victories themselves?

Not to insert anything as trite as facts into this debate but here are some figures from the 2nd Sino-Japanese war:

Chinese losses:

Nationalist: 1,320,000 KIA, 1,797,000 WIA, 120,000 MIA, and 17,000,000–22,000,000 civilians dead Communist: 500,000 KIA and WIA.

Japanese losses:

480,000 dead in total and 1.9 million military casualties Contemporary PRC studies: 1,055,000 dead, 1,172,200 injured Total: 2,227,200 Nationalist Chinese (ROC) estimates—1.77 million deaths, 1.9 million wounded

The purpose of the parade is to create fear? Did Chinese President Xi Jinping approve this? And where is Hu Zhanhao now? Seventy years is a very long time to feed and shelter this kind of hate.

Japan is frighten by China and they should be.

China is a Nuclear Armed Massive Military Giant that sits on a massive land mass bordering what? 4 Seas?

Japan is a small, peacful, Non-Nuclear Armed Nation and has a much smaller self defense force compared to this Fierce Nuclear Armed Communist Nation that fears Japan might someday might visit a little Shrine?

Wow, I had no idea that a Fierce Nuclear Armed Giant like China has so much fear in a little War Shrine that is not even located anywhere within 1,000 miles from their respective boarders (not including ADIZ's).

Gosh this little shrine must house a Massive Spirit in it that totally freaks out the Chinese to the point they must Massively Armed themselves and persistently try to aquire harass, intimidate, and threaten the Japanese AND they must have a set of ROCKS in the South China Sea that somehow have exotic Tuna?

I hear in China that there is s Massive Portrait of a man in the front of an exotic city known as "The Forbidden City".

I read that this Man (who is portrait on the front wall of this Forbidden City) wiped out 40 Million of his own democratic Chinese people in order to establish a Communist Party in China and then test detonated Nuclear Weapons in order to bring his newly founded Communist Nation to Full Power and Glory and then he immortalized himself on their Forbidden City's wall just to remind all the subjects who pass by and wonder "Why can't we vote?" "What is Liberty?" "Does my opinion really matter?"

Well, I am certainly happy that Japan's Good Friends - The United States is well positioned in Japan and with Brand New Radar's and a well devised "Nuclear Dome" over Japan just to make sure "Our Friends" remain safe from this Paranoid Fierce Nuclear Giant!

I read another article here that the Chinese are buying up Japanese rice because of the fear that local Chinese grown rice contains pesticides. Perhaps they should direct their effort and money towards 'frightening' the Chinese rice growers about excessive use of pesticides with threats of jail time instead of a big military parade to frighten the Japanese.

Military parades are great to watch...all the noise, smoke, shaking of the ground. For military analysts, they are not that interesting...they have much better ways to spy from the sky and other means. Just looking at the shape of the equipment is not enough. They seek the design details, the software and other stuff.

Frighten the Japanese? They probably frighten all the stray cats and dogs with all that noise. Such childish write-ups.

Anyone who has lived in Japan long term knows that Japan and China have much more in common than with any Western country. These two need to find a way to settle past differences and move on in a progressive manner, without bothering the world with 3rd party mediation. Lets not forget, it was some recent Japanese nationalist who wanted to stir up some trouble China and even bragged about it, and they surely got what they asked for. while I admit the DPJ had some sorry performance when it comes to the economy, at least they knew that messing with China in an undiplomatic manner was a mistake and recongnized Chinas potential. I predicted this would happen (it was a no brainer in this part of the world) and it surely did and continues to manifest. The new China is not the old shinajin that nutjob nationalist refer to them as; its a new and dangerous China. Shouldnt of messed with it to begin with. Im no fan of China, but rather a realist.

I have lived in Japan for over 20 years and ever since the early days have lived under the threat of NK and china one day completely losing it and actually launching at japan.

I was surprised at first when the Japanese business person I was working with told me that Japan has lived under these threats for decades and they are not a rare or uncommon occurrence, china and NK threaten japan often, he told me this as we listened to news about NK launching rockets and the sabre rattling has never stopped in all the time I have lived here.

China feels aggrieved and also suffers from inferiority complex, same as both koreas, its the price one pays for being successful even after having reformed and apologised.

Listening to a handful of a nutters and thinking their opinion matters is proof that these places have issues on who they are and how good they are.

Japan population is 128 million , the 8,700 right wing nut jobs are by far a minority.

When the Chinese were rioting and smashing anyhting that was representative of japan, was it everyone Chinese who was doing it, was it the whole country's psyche or a handful of nutjobs?

Keep things in perspective don't let blinkered opinions influence your views.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

"Japan population is 128 million , the 8,700 right wing nut jobs are by far a minority."

but the minority has a control of the majority. A point missed by many who say Japan is a country of individualist and free thinkers. The same goes for China, thus my comparison of the two.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

I'm pretty sure it was America that stopped Japan in WWII, not china. Yet we don't flaunt our military over a war that happened almost 100 years ago. Even after the event we made peace with Japan and are friendly Allies and business partnering countries. Yes, Japan did some horrible things to China, but they attacked us as well. Bombed us in our home country and killed countless numbers of our soliders. Yet we don't try such childish "scare" tactics. Hell if the UN gave Japan the ability to establish an army again they would probably ruin the Chinese army. Not to say that I would want history to repeat itself. I myself admire the Japanese culture and people and would hate to see the Peace be destroyed between our countries.

Pukey

Exactly. Whenever it's USA or Japan's SDF having a parade, it's a celebration.

In 20 years here, I've seen exactly zero parades. Either you are confused with military maneuvers (which are for training, that's why every country does them) or you are confused with the parades where the locals dress up in historical costumes. Those plastic katana? They're not real.

Either way, you seem confused. Nope, some military vehicles driving down the highway in convoy from one place to another doesn't count either.

Those skirts and boots... I can imagine officers fighting to see who makes an inspection of the troops!

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Then China has the balls to complain why Japan would spend more on a military presence?

China is not only STUPID AS A BAG OF HAMMERS but a THUG that will be its own undoing. If China wants to be a thug, then the world simply stops doing business with it. That will be the same effect as China going to war with anyone. That is China's death.

The smartest move for China is to freaking move on already and quit acting like the idiot nations of this world I.e. Russia, North Korea and Iran. War is only profitable for those who sell the weapons. EVERYONE else loses.

unless China plans to put all of its military personnel especially boots on the ground on opium or crack, its pretty much "yawn" as they have no experience, compared to world's ally of Japan and where Japan will get its money's worth and then some. In addition it's main ally and allies do not need to put on a smoke and mirror's show to demonstrate their power. Japan is not alone so in regards to Japan one has to wonder if the powers that be like defense contractors are only helping to spread the fear along with doom and gloom in the hopes to support Mr. Abe in revising the Constitution. Why not a circus that is frightening always makes people pay in one way or the other.

China - where I come from we call it "little man syndrome".

Third largest country in the world in size Most populous country in the world Second largest economy in the world One of the largest armies in the world I'm not sure that you can attribute 'little' to China.

Here is the urban dictionaries definition of little man syndrome for those who don't understand the metaphor:

A man, small in stature, who attempts to overcome the way he believes other people perceive him (as a diminuative character) by 1) attaching himself to authority figures, 2) trying to manipulate himself into positions of control, 3) migrating toward positions of leadership, and 4) having a fairly volatile temper.

China has made some very respectable improvements in many areas, but it still feels like more developed countries have taken advantage of it it, or people look down on China, and it needs to act like a bully to be respected.

The alternative name to the small man syndrome is the Napoleon syndrome, i.e., he was a short man and needed to conquer Europe to prove he was as strong as other men.

The real ally of the US in Asia is Japan ( forget S.Korea ) US sold out to China in trade for cheap products and is paying the price now in all aspects of economy US sold out military designs to China in the 1990s thanks to Bills and Hills Military Officer Corp being destroyed now by Obama

Future does not bode well for US and allies as current events have shown. ( something Japan should consider )

Last real USA President was RM Nixon. Before you say what a bad guy he was, read his whole body of work. History is proving his worth.

...the parade was "to frighten Japan and declare to the world China's determination to maintain the post-war world order", said the article, written by Chinese financial and global affairs commentator Hu Zhanhao.

Hu Who? Had anybody even heard of this "commentator" before it was served up for you to get all riled up about? Didn't think so.

In other words, this article is nothing more than what's known as, "Click Bait."

And guess what? They GOTCHA!!

The particular soldiers pictured can march straight this way, we'd have a riot.

As for the sabre rattling? Meh. 19th Century rub-a-dub men a tub ready to be sunk.

The expansion of the islands they are making on the reefs in the South China Sea is of concern, as is this inability to discover the joys of compromise. Losing face, the synonym for pride. Pride? Well, pride is pleasure arising from a man's thinking too highly of himself. Watch out CHina, all that pride is gonna bite you in the assets one day, real hard, real deep. Hope you learn some humility before it does.

I too love the parade of miniskirted female soldiers in the photograph. The truth is that everyone loves a parade, with least regard as to what is paraded. This to say that parades scare no one. On the other hand, China does not need a parade to be scary. Abe is already scared (or pretending to be) and using China as a reason for militarizing Japan, which is truly scary.

The one thing China and Japan do not need is a war. Both sides know that and ought to come clean about it.

Anytime their economy starts going bad China needs a whipping boy to divert the public anger. Wonder how long it'll last until the people of China turn anger towards their corrupt government.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Let China toot their horn and flex their muscles. They will probably never start a war with Japan... I think this is all the more reason for Japan not to strengthen their military (beyond self defense).

"Communist China generally shies away from the vast annual demonstrations of military might that were a hallmark of the Soviet Union."

Quite obviously China is not generally shying away from the vast demonstrations of military might now. Such military parades have been a hallmark of every dictatorship in the world for some time--the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy under Mussolini, North Korea, Iran. It is a demonstration of their military might and a form of intimidation.

Japan should not feel frightened by show of military parades .It should build its own military strength and form strong strategic relationships with the countries in the region so that they can assist one another in the time of need.

"Even now the part played by the People’s Liberation Army in China’s earlier resistance against Japanese invasion remains a key element of the Communist Party’s claim to a right to rule."

Sorry but you can't stand to see how the Communist took credit when it was the Nationalist army and another faction fighting the real war against Japan while the communist were told to hold the supply lines in check or guard a flank. They saved their forces until the war over and then fought the Nationalist. This is truly a great example of history is written by the winners.

But on the subject of the article, China is a bully and wants to use its military to scare the rest of the world. Typical communist playbook.

Looks like Japans military budget will see a raise

1 ( +1 / -0 )

The rise of China globally, economically, and the fact they’ve the desire to build a military they believe is necessary to defend their interests regionally and globally, we shouldn’t be surprised by that. China needs to go beyond a military oriented around ground forces. One thing the Chinese military has always lacked is the ability to project sustained power very far out from their borders. They haven’t been able to get their military to operate effectively at great distances.

Just watch this one instead: http://youtu.be/5Xuqa1xKxOs at least there's cool music to go with ChiCom military on parade.

I will surely be there to watch the parade. This is celebration in conjunction with other celebrations throughout Asia. People here seem to forget that other nations suffered too! But China's celebrations get all the criticisms.

China's military parade is a probably a statement to hard core japanese nationalist. The ones suing Asahi and the one who preach hate to Koreans living in Japan.

China is an economic powerhouse and new global power. Everyone needs to get used to that.

IM-proper gander. China's infeiority complex combined with shifting focus of attention away from a slowing economy. Let's face it if a percentage of 7 billion people came to japan there would be no food left, they don't need guns for that, just send more tourists.

China really had the nerves to do such actions knowing that the Japanese are dealing with tough situations. What a low blow China.

It's so Ironic that these Short-sighted Communist in Beijing only reacting today for the War that already ended centuries ago... It seems that their long endured "100 Year Syndrome" a 100 year humiliation really incurable. Japan should cure it by dropping bombs again to this fetus eating yellow people in the Mainland.

What china doesnt know is that its army only works for frightening its own people. And allow their CCP stay in power

Chinese government does need to parade its military strength now and then not only to frighten Japan, but also to intimidate Manchurians who want freedom, Inner Mongolians who would like to be part of their northern homeland, Tibetans who would like to breathe free, Uighurs who dream of freedom, and Kashmiris who would like their Aksai Chin back. When you occupy other peoples' lands, military show is a necessity.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

China's only way to have a parade that can show off a terrifying demonstration of military might is to have one billion people mindlessly marching, armed or not. If there was a war, that's the only advantage they have.

China want to become world power. China want to devour all neighbor countries. China have bad relation with Japan, South Korea , Vietnam , Philippines , India , Malaysia, Indonesia etc. China have territorial dispute with these countries. China also illegal controled Tibet since decades. Dalai Lama is one of the great man on planet at this time but china declared him as a terrorist. South Africa rejected his visa because China threatened to South Africa. Pop Francis denied to meet Dalai Lama out of china concern. Now Southeast Asia is most dangerous zone cause of china.

@Dominick McClelland: "I'm pretty sure it was America that stopped Japan in WWII, not china. I myself admire the Japanese culture and people and would hate to see the Peace be destroyed between our countries."

Had China not resisted and just rolled over, Imperial Japan would have control of China's resources to further it's war efforts. US military and civilian deaths pale in comparison to those suffered by China. In the case of civilians, maybe a few thousand Americans died vs 7-11 million Chinese http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties. The difference is like night and day. What would most Americans feel, had 7-11 million American civilians been killed, instead?

China to hold military parade

As I said before Communist love to have their military prance around. But, when it comes to fighting they have to point guns at the backs of their troops to force them to fight.

kiyoshiMukaiJan. 29, 2015 - 08:51PM JST What china doesnt know is that its army only works for frightening its own people. And allow their CCP stay in power

Well said!

Here is a real sad reality, when a citizen of Communist controlled China joins the PLA they swear an oath to first defend the Communist party and secondly to defend China.

The PLA is there to defend the Communist Party and it's officials against the people of China and that is why the Communist Party of China is still in power. But, as with all Totalitarian regimes it's only a matter of time before the people wake up and take their nation back.

888naffJan. 31, 2015 - 03:42AM JST China behaves like it lost the war.

Communist China didn't.

maglev101Feb. 01, 2015 - 01:20AM JST 1.Had China not resisted and just rolled over, Imperial Japan would have control of China's resources to further it's war efforts.

True, but it wasn't Mao Zedong and his Communist cohorts who fought hard against Imperial Japan, it was the Republic of China under Lin Sen and Chiang Kai-shek.

The Communist use propaganda to make the people believe that if wasn't for Mao's leadership and godlike brilliance Imperial Japan would never have been stopped, but that is further for the truth. Mao mainly sat back allowed the Nationals to spend their forces and resources fighting against Imperial Japan and when it was all over attacked and reaped the rewards.

If it wasn't for Japan's invasion Mao and his Communist cohorts would never of had the chance to nearly destroy China with their child like programs. Every time I look at a picture of Mao a mango comes to mind..... Mao was neither brilliant nor wise, he didn't have a clue how one should rule a nation, that's why he nearly ruined China.

For those that don't know what I am talking about please read and see what Communism will bring if it is left to run a nation.

And the even bigger difference are the deaths attributed to Mao Zedong and the Communist red terror during the revolution and after their victory, a rough estimate is over 70 Million lives!

In no way does China thinks it defeated Japan. Try asking any Chinese. They know the US put an end to it. If it hadn't been for the U.S. Japan might still be in on the continent. So all of you saying China thinks it won the war....that's just you. Show me one Chinese who thinks it won? No Chinese here would even come close to saying that.
