Tit for tat, I wonder will Abe give the JIETAI the right to shoot?

Maybe they are not making it clear but if you read the Chinese statement, their intention to land on the islands is clear:

Quote: “There are some difficulties in landing on some islands to survey, and in surveying and mapping the surrounding sea area of the islands, because some countries infringed and occupied these islands of China,” he said.

This whole issue is getting out of control. I just heard that the Chinese media is warming the Chinese to prepare and brace for war. Since the news media Is China's governement mouth piece, the government it is basically telling their citizens to prepare for war. I hope Mr Abe and the right wingers understand what they have started. Nixon once stated that China is a sleeping dragon and should not try to awake it. Unfortunately the sleeping dragons has nukes and 1 million standing army with another 1 million of reserves.

Hope Mr Abe finds a way to get out of this mess and clams things down but doesn't look like its going to happen with the things he's been saying and doing.

China was woken up in recent years by the world giving them all their business.

Economically and militarily much stronger, China has now laid claim to all of the seas off the east coast, including Taiwan and all disputed islands, aiming to take all of what might once have been under Chinese influence.

If anyone reacts to this new threat in any way, are they to be accused of starting it? Should they just lie down and take it? Why are the Philippines asking Japan for help?

There will be no surveying by China within 12 Nautical Miles of the Senkaku Islands. JCG Ships and Planes are already in the area on routine patrol. I just wish Shinzo Abe would deploy Aegis Destroyers to the area as routine patrol.

    What an idiot.

Japan must stand firm in the face of this ongoing provocation: no negotiation, continued patrols, joint exercises. The unfortunate reality is that it's the only language China understands. Without this, China will soon be updating "its" territorial map in its citizens' passports.

Japan must stand firm in the face of this ongoing provocation

Japan cannot even control the Chinese massage street workers on the border of Bunkyo-ku and Taito-ku let alone all the other places inside Tokyo. Good luck on protecting islands thousands of heart beats away.

Looks like Chia is really determined to start a war with the United States.

At the first hint of a Chinese invasion of the Senkakus, Abe will send in the armed forces. He should be laying the groundwork right now, contacting every ally he has around the world, preparing them to very vocally side with Japan.
