Pathetic! They're trying to copy South Korea's immature actions on Nippon Steel.

Lawsuits backed by an antidemocratic CCP controlled regime are a farce, as illegitimate as their so called Government.

You mean all those Japanese companies that give jobs to people ? I suppose you think all the workers are Japanese.

Jog on China. It's not like you don't submit your own people to forced labour. Or are you trying to tell me that children work in sweatshops voluntarily? Since we're suing people, why doesn't Tibet sue China for their forceful occupation? Why doesn't Japan sue China for slander and libel?

Tokyo says such actions are barred by international agreement.

Exactly, so this case is just going to get laughed out. China can't sue. Not unless they want to escalate tensions even more and degrade ties even further. China is utterly pathetic these days.

That's a good point on both sides really. I hear people in India could use jobs. Maybe Japanese companies can move out of crackpot China and into India. Or Taiwan. Or Vietnam. Or the Phillipines. You know, somewhere that actually lives in the present and doesn't drag up WWII every five seconds. Any of these countries would be more deserving really. China can go and whistle.

More of the same old rubbish propaganda coming out of Communist China. If no one sees through this farce they are either blind or getting paid to post.

Hey, where are all of the Communist China's 50-cent-army members?

Very strange they aren't harping their Communist China propaganda......

Come to think about it, where is the North Korean propaganda machine known as Chucky?

They must all be getting their TPM's from their nations.

China can keep on dreaming. Japan should bring back its manufacturing to its homeland and other friendlier Asian countries!

I think Japan should sue the Chinese for being... Chinese... and polluting the air cloud that drops acid rain on Japan and children walking to school.. and for selling food grown in piles of shit to Japan is genocide and they are making money from all the inferior crap that silly people buy because it is cheap... and they poison the land and grow GMO foods and are not nice tourists... I think we should sue Chinese for being arrogant when they have done nothing to advance world society and steal intellectual property and kill sharks for fins and driving up cost of Tuna with no consideration for a world that must live in peace and work together to make world a better place for all our children.. don't get me started..

A ridiculous law suit and a waste of Japanese taxpayers' money. It is just another way to get publicity for China. On another note, it is similar to the African-American population suing people who emigrated from China in 1950 for damages done by the pre-Civil War plantation owners, their relatives, and today's American taxpayers. The judges should just dismiss the case as insignificant and unjustifiable.

Not sure about the logic behind this one...

This is great news!! Finally, the 50 million people China put into forced labor will be able to have their day in court!!

What are international businesses still doing in China?! Get out there quickly and then let's watch how fast China is loosing integrity. There us no hope and no good outcome in investing in China as long as the CCP will rule.

*losing.

China is good at getting silly media coverage from these 70 year old events.

On the other hand, Japan's diplomats are pathetic at communicating how polite, considerate, dependable and centrist ordinary Japanese are.

China has become the symbol of evil. So the discussion is always against the background of how much do you let evil people get away with, which is an awful way to try to work out a relationship.

@ Alejandro S. Arashi,

The reason why China continues to put this non-sense in the media is to justify and try to get the world to accept later the reasons they can attack the Islands in the future. They are paying very close attention to the Ukraine situation and how the US is looking at this, if the US does nothing and sit on the sidelines you can bet China will do the same.

DOUBLE JEOPARDY!

Since Japan already paid compensation through treaties signed with China and South Korea. When Japan normalized its relations with the PRC in 1972, Mao Zedong waived the claim of war reparations from Japan.

Any claims for compensation thereafter are responsiblities of the CCP, no longer Japan's.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

The court said China gave up its right to make such claims when the countries normalised relations more than four decades ago.

That's nice. This is not about China. This is about Chinese citizens. If you sued your Japanese company for back pay, would you appreciate the court and the newspapers making it a Japan vs. your country deal? Would you appreciate if they denied you compensation on the basis of friendly ties between the governments? Would you think any of that was remotely legit?

Of course it would not be. These Japanese companies never paid these workers for the work they received, and the Japanese and Chinese governments have zero authority to sign away their right to be paid.

So, in your opinion treaties signed by the Chinese Government don't apply to the Chinese people?

Wow, that is a very simple way to get around truth and facts, but guess what, you and them are all in the wrong.

Treaties signed by the Communist Chinese government do apply to their people.

Nice try, but reality can never be trumped by propaganda bunk.

The government of China is not even remotely communist. They just try to pretend they are with their name.

Forced labor is only a form of robbery . Its good to see that China can understand that robbery is a bad thing , evil thing. But its sad to see that China , today , at present time continue to rob . Vietnamese fishermen their tools ,their equipments ,their catches right in their territorial water.

Yawn... here we go again. I wonder if China will ever grow up and stop stamping its feet?

The Chinese court has turned it down.

In that case, Sumitomo's Nippon Steel lost. Mitsui helped Sumitomo to pay the penalty.

It is different now. a couple is sueing also Japanese Govt. Maybe Japanese Govt orders Mitsui and Mitsubishi to stop helping Chinese industrial development and pull out their operations in China, .There are other Asian countries waiting Japanese industries help their countries modernize their industries. They have been snugging USA proposals all those years.

It"S MEMar. 08, 2014 - 09:13PM JST The Chinese court has turned it down.

But, this latest fray isn't over because the lower court has to kowtow to whatever their Communist government masters demand.

Below is what is in the works...

Their lawyer thus withdrew the suit, the source said. The group is considering refiling the suit after reviewing it. One source at a support group said the court has no authority to make a judgment on such a lawsuit. The court is expected to discuss the issue with a high court in the province.

This is a tool to be used by the Communist Government to further their nefarious goals.

I have a better understand of Communism and how they act and work than most people. I was born and spent the early part of my youth living under the tyranny of Communism, did you?

But, as I have said to you on more than one occasion, let us agree to disagree.
