Malaysia to Okinawa... that's a hell of a trip on a (reported) 60' yacht.

My sympathies go out to the families and loved ones of the crew. Miracles still happen and I will be praying for one now.

with all the typhoon activity around this time of the year it was obviously an ill-advised leg of the trip.I hope they are found.

Sounds like a yacht delivery gone wrong. Very sad but as memyself said, foolish. One really shouldn't go looking to be caught in a typhoon.

memyself, I take it you are an Armatrading fan?

memyselfl - Who are you to pass judgement? This man is a hardworking man from Florida who served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years! Not some "ignorant rich person" of whom you speek! This man is just trying to work for a living to deliver a yacht. He is a devoted family man who I know personally and am hurt you would utter such words to others without even knowing the situation! Think before you post, family members of these people are reading this. And I hope you pray for their safe recovery. Thanks, Tony from Pensacola Florida

I am a family friend of co captain on the jade princess. It wasn't a sailing yacht. It really wasn't even a pleasure boat.It looked more like a fishing boat that was converted into a world class touring boat. She was also designed for rough seas. A typhone is a hurricane just different names for the same thing.Yes we are worried for family and friends ! Wouldn't you be,our US government is being so closed mouth about it they will not talk or even give condolences. Some one from here went to DC and was quickly asked to remove themselves from the property and not talk about it. Hope is all we have at this time so if some that are in JApan ,China and Tiawan would search they're outer islands that are not inhabited then reported as such to give us hope please do it. I have google earthed the region and there is alsorts of little places including desolate shore lines as well.PLEASE LOOK!
