Hope they accurately reenacted the correct number of empty One Cup Ozeki's on the fishing boat...

and I also hope they properly reenacted the autopilot through busy waters, captain not on bridge, and noone manning radar..

Captain not on bridge: Completely normal. No captain is on the bridge 24/7.

Radar not manned: The Aegis radar was the one not manned, which is irrelevent since it can't be used to navigate anyway. The other surface radars, including the Furuno, were manned as required.

Autopilot: Not the direct cause of the collision; a ship on autopilot simply travels in a straight line at a set speed. At no time was the fishing boat in the direct path of the ship until immediately prior to the collision. Had the fishermen not erroneously turned directly into the path of the ship in the last minute we would be reading about a near-miss instead of a fatal collision. Blame the JMSDF crew for their lack of internal communication and for not being more careful in general, but a good portion of the fault (majority in my opinion) should be assigned to the fisherman that was driving the Seitoku-maru. He shouldn't be spared the blame just because he happens to have perished as a result of the collision, which is what the J media and public seem to be doing...
