    I just listened to a great podcast about education in Alaska. They have been listening to representatives of parents and local residents in forming their curriculums and improving both reading and writing ability for a number of years and it seems to be working out quite well. First, they are 'teaching' the old style way: from experienced professionals; second, they are keeping their traditions.
