OMG, a rational decision?!?! What is Japan coming to. Now, how about teaching the good old USA.

    in a effective marital

Other than the missing consonant, what is an 'effective' marital relationship? One with offspring or one where both partners are happy to live together? I believe the term 'common law' marriage could be used. Several decades ago they were also called 'virtually married.' But the internets have virtually destroyed that meaning of 'virtual.'

It's something the judge probably realises is in short supply here, where dysfunctional marital relationships are rampant.

Who knows, though, in a place that apparently "evicts" people from the country?
