Its like asking a Baby to be quiet.
No. It will not work.
To be useful, Helicopters have to fly.
I remember the killing in Akihabara - also many Helicopters. But these were Helicopters of the news and TV. And - no complaints. I thought it was noisy.
I thought they were moving to GUAM? Why are they flying at night time? There is no reason to. Their flying has nothing to do with so called FREEDOM. They do not belong here period, they belong in america period. We can take care of ourselves.
When the US military leaves Japan, the "problem" of aircraft noise remains. The J military is going to fly planes and helicopters too (yes, even at night).
It will be interesting to see if the public complains about Japanese military aircraft noise.

??? Are you serious? You don't understand the simple reality that military pilots/aircraft, whose mission includes operating at night as well as during the day, need to train/fly during non-daylight hours? Do you think civilian commercial pilots practice only during the day? Unlike most civilian airports that shut down at night, a military airport is always going to be in operation during early and late hours. If these people couldn't stand the noise they really shouldn't have moved near the base to begin with. You do understand that when MCAS Futenma was constructed after World War II in the middle of open fields there was nothing around it because everything in the vicinity had been desroyed during combat in the Battle of Okinawa? It is the city of Ginowan that's been built up around the base and right up to its gates. Listening to these plaintiffs you would think that the base was built in the middle of a residential area that had already existed.
We can take care of ourselves.
Uh huh. Unfortunately for you the LDP doesn't share that setntiment.
Actually, when reading this news in the newspaper, it gives more details about the case. The Japanese government DID claim, that many of the protesting persons had moved near to the existing noisy airport and started complaining later.
But somehow the court had a closed ear on this specific topic and did not include it when making the ruling.
Why don't the Japanese people wise up and kick the Americans out of Okinawa and Japan, for that matter. Oh, that's right, you have to kiss the Imperial USA's butt for the $$'s and yen to keep flowing. What a price to pay, you poor delusional folk. The USA is about to fall, like all empires in History. Watch you don't get crushed underneath, Japan.

Because poll after poll indicates that local business establishments simply don't want them to leave ! Try not to confuse politician rhetoric with the reality of the local businessman ! Sheesh !

So if I move next to an airport that has existed for 60 plus years I too can complain about noise pollution and cash in? Sounds great.

Amazing how some people believe that freedom shouldn't make any noise or cost anything.
