Way to go, to 400 years of Japan-Mexico ties.

Does this mean more Tortilla food outlets in Japan and more Sushi outlets in Mexico?

Somebody needs to get both their geography & history sorted out. This was a Spanish ship sailing from one Spanish colony to another Spanish colony. There was no such place as Mexico. And if you think what Mexico became & then degenerated into, why would anybody want to maintain ties with it?

I find the bilateral relations between Mexico and Japan as "unique". They are very compatiable in many ways, and can help each other in soooooo many ways. Those two economies can be a bridge across the Pacific, each helping each other to understand differences in culture. I see them as very good friends and trade partners in the long run, and I spent tremendous energies to attempt for the bilateral trade agreement to work.

Having been to Mexico, I'm surprised that Japan would want to maintain any ties with it. Mexico is a massive slum, outside of the tourist areas that are cleansed of any natives. Further, Mexico is not safe for any foreigner. One of their largest sources of revenue is money that crosses the border from the U.S., from illegal aliens that send money home (and therefore Mexico supports illegal migration). Corrupt Govt, violent people, no thanks.

Japan, Mexico is more than just Lucha Libre.

While the fools around here run their mouth off, I am glad Japan doesn't have to listen to them.

Hahaha it doesn't bother me anymore when I hear racist comments about Mexico. It is true that this isn't the best place in the world, but if Japan wants to keep close relations, there are reasons for that.

Among them, the goods that Mexico exports to Japan, the Japanese tourism in Mexico, and something many people doesn't know is that they find mexican culture very interesting, they LOVE our food, our pueblos and colonial looking cities, hahaha also lucha libre, last year during a trip to japan, I was talking with a teacher and he started asking questions about lucha libre wrestlers and I was like "ohhh shit!" because I don't know much about the topic.

I don't have anything against US, I like the US. However racism is another thing, and something you can't deny is that wether you like it or not, mexicans have priority over US citizens when dealing with migrational issues.

So being mexican brings me a lot of benefits, and I like it.

Oh BTW mtimjones, should you ever go to Osaka USJ, don't forget to try the burritos and churritos, very tasty!
