Maybe it was another of those "going away presents" from his buddies? Do they not have a medic on that rock?

This guy better have a really big plunger in order to pull his career out of the toilet. Don't agree with docking his pay, however, the guy would have to live to about 150 to get anywhere near paying back the cost of evac. Would also like to know how he damaged himself. Walking around in a drunken stupor or a bit of rough and tumble down the cells.

He shouldn't be punished any more than someone who did the same stuff on the mainland - location of the offence should have no bearing.

Has anyone thought that it would be within reasonable expection that the island will have adequate medical care for personnel stationed there to deal with a medical emergency far more severe than one or two bone fracture and quite possibly a stomach pump?

There is a lot of bullying in the Japanese boys scouts, specially in the maritime patrol scouts.

Smells like a forced drinking by a man who can't take the piss by his aggressively insistent working colleagues at the nijikai.

Need I point out that the Japanese government no longer calls that rock Iwo Jima but has reverted back to its pre-WW2 name, as preferred by the few natives there pre-WW2, Iwo-to? On topic, if you can't get drunk and stupid in Japan, where can you?

stick to the fizzy pop nameless japanese man

Guess he's in a bit of trouble after having to be airlifted. Anyway, typical army activity when your post is boring, drinking and fighting. I would assume as Notginger observed that his injury wasn't self inflicted.

Wow Iwo Jima again this week. Those ghosts are busy.

  • Youdontknow at 02:12 AM JST - 31st October

It is NOT called Iwo Jima JT! Sheesh!

IT IS IWO ITO and has been since 2007!

  • silverwind20 at 04:39 AM JST - 31st October

hmmm. . . maybe it was misspelt on purpose so people would know where they're talking about, I know I would have no clue where Iwo Ito was if I read that yet everybody, even if they don't know the exact location of Iwo Jima, knows of it. . .
