Can someone more knowledgable about the Imperial family please explain why so many suffer from stress issues? The Crown Princess, the Emperor, and, if I'm not mistaken, the Empress had shingles a while ago. What is going on?

Easy, he and his family are prisoners of the Imperial Household agency.

Suggested way for his Highness to decrease stress - beat the living daylights out of the Chief of the Imperial Household Agency...

    I've always rather liked him."

Me too. If only he'd been in charge of Japan in 1941 - there might not have been an attack on Pearl Harbor...

Masako's worst nightmare -- the early demise of her father-in-law -- throwing her from the proverbial frying pan . . .

As far as stress relief for royalty goes, I hear that Prince Harry recommends kicking paparazzi. Perhaps the head of the Imperial Household Agency would prove a satisfactory substitute.

Poor man. Anyone else would be allowed to fade away with dignity; he'll be subjected to poking and prodding an invasive procedures by an 'expert medical team' and we'll be subjected to hourly bulletins on how much fresh blood he's been given and how much he's coughed up.

    My thoughts exactly, Cleo.

    Super idea, aedfed!

Seriously, though, surely this much information is a breach of the Personal Information Protection Law? It seems ridiculous, given how twitchy hospitals are about releasing information about patients, even to their insurance companies....

Thats right have a good rest on top of the life time of rest you've already had. You can rest assured you'll never be rejected from a hospital with an emergency, and die as a result like your subjects are. Have a good rest and good speed your recovery.

Emperor Akihito is so kind, gentle, a very successful Emperor. I wish him a very full recovery from illness. I wish him good health and "long live the Emperor of Japan"
