These birds are called タンチョウ (tancho) in Japan, not to be confused with kancho.

The birds, named “Big” and “Kika”, were transported to Taipei from Kushiro, northern Japan.

Wonder how much is cost to hire the marketing company who thought up those names.

Big Bird, Kika Bird, are Angry Birds. They were taken from their friends.

These birds are so beautiful, too bad about these funky names, but oh well! They are still lovely and majestic, better to enjoy them now before our greed and stupidity that is killing our earth does away we these lovely creatures. Good like Big and good luck Kika!!
