Quite an elite club and of course most of them live in southernmost Japan, namely Okinawa.

But how many of them actually still know their age?

There are at least 5 centenarians on my local bus everyday - taking advantage of the free "silver" pass provided by the city for public transport (great deal).

But, the thing that annoys me is, they almost NEVER sit in the "silver" seats!

Six times as many female centenarians as male ones.

Thanks, Japan Inc., for working all those loyal men to an early death.

Next time someone claims that Japan is a "male-dominated" society, remind them of this statistic. If the average man were so valued by society, he would be enjoying a long and healthy life.
