    In Japan they usually refer to schools following the Sudbury Valley model.

    Is "Free-Schools" Japans social equivalent to "Free-Range" as in Free-Range chicken ranching? Just let your students wander around and learn what they can !

    Not too far from that no. It provides the opportunity and encouragement to learn, without the requirements and formalized classroom structure normally associated with regular schools.
